Recent Events

• The 12th International Congress on Twin Studies (2007) Ghent, Belgium from June 7-10, 2007.
• The 37th Annual Meeting of the Behavior Genetics Association was held at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science in Amsterdam, June 3-6, 2007.
• The Behavior Genetics Association 2005 Annual Meeting was held 29 June-2 July 2005 in Hollywood, California, USA.
• Fourth World Congress in Fetal Medicine , an international scientific meeting, took place in Istanbul, Turkey, between Sunday 26 and Wednesday 29 June 2005. In the Congress this year, there were lectures and discussions on recent developments and best practice in many aspects of Fetal Medicine including:- Screening and diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, Fetal surgical and medical therapy, Preterm delivery, pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction, maternal disease, and The role of 3D Ultrasound, functional MRI, fetal products in maternal blood, proteomics and genomics.
The World Congress is designed both for those specializing in fetal medicine and those with a more general clinical interest who want to be updated on developments in the field, as well as all those involved in the care of pregnant women and their babies. Twin Studies Seeking Participants

• DO YOU AND YOUR SISTER HAVE NON-IDENTICAL TWINS?
  A major Australian medical research centre is looking for sisters who have given birth to non-identical twins (without the assistance of hormone or invitro-fertilisation treatment). The purpose of the research is to find the gene(s) responsible for the tendency to conceive non-identical twins, which will lead to a better understanding of the mechanisms of female fertility and infertility.

• STUDY OF ADULT TWINS WHO ARE PARENTS.
  I am interested in understanding relationships in families when the parents are identical or fraternal twins, and one or both twins have children. This study is ongoing in the Psychology Department (Twin Studies Center) at California State University, Fullerton.
